I love this video of the St. George Ironman!!! What an amazing thing to have in your community. I volunteered for the Ironman this year to help the athletes and it was inspiring. In fact while I was helping at the Ironman I signed up for the marathon and just finished running last month. I will post more about that experience later, but bottom line is that the Ironman is full of just what the name states women and men with the will and determination of iron.
Cool transaction. I had some clients find me over the internet back in July that are from Guam. I sent them daily updates of listings that were in their price range and kept in contact with them through email. They came to Salt Lake City to visit family and made a trip down to St. George for two days at the end of September. We had a great time together. What great people. I learned a ton about Guam and learned that Guam isn't much different than visiting another state in the United States. They have a lot of the ...
I have always enjoyed helping people. When I was 22, I started working for Lifestyles 2000 (Health Club) in the Salt Lake City/Orem areas as a personal trainer. I loved helping people reach their goals and at the same time making life long friendships. I was a Health Club Manager/Sales Manager for 11 years. My wife and I will be celebrating 14 years of marriage in 2011. We have four beautiful daughters. Brylee is our 11 year old gymnast. She is the youngest on her Level 8 team ...

Buying or selling a home, especially in today’s market, is not only an overwhelming experience, but often times, can become very confusing. Finding a realtor who has the knowledge, marketing savvy, and the perfect fit for a homeowner is another hurdle one has to face. Well look no further! Craig Barr, with ERA Brokers, is the right person for the job!
Thanks to all his expertise and the necessary tools Craig provided us, we just sold our home. Craig walked us through every step of the way, taking the time to explain every minuscule detail. We never felt rushed during our face to face meetings and gave us all the time we needed to alleviate our concerns. No matter what question we had, he was punctual with his response, either by phone or text. He was also a man of his word! If he said he would follow up with us within a particular time frame, you can be rest assured that he kept his promise.
The marketing of our home is what sold it! Craig has twenty six steps he outlines in his action plan and he follows every one. He took advantage of the influx of tourists who were visiting St. George for the Huntsman’s Games and for the Marathon.
On a personal note, Craig is very contemporary, positive, upbeat, and possesses a professional easy going manner. Craig really does live up to his motto – Raising the ‘Barr’ in Real Estate. With another house to sell in the future, we will DEFINITELY have Craig handle the transaction.
Sincerely,
Mike and Carole Brookshire

I have worked on 4 short sales. I was the listing agent on two of them. The first one that I had listed took a little over a year from start to finish. The second one was an already approved short sale and took 3 months from start to finish with Wells Fargo. The third short sale took 3 months from start to finish. I had to be in contact with the bank on a daily basis and we had an offer on it a week after listing it, which is key because no communication can start with the bank until there is an offer to review. The short sale that I am working on right now has had an offer at the bank for over a month now and we still haven’t heard back from them. It is with Bank of America. Buyers often ask me if they offer full price with a short sale, will they get the offer accepted? My answer is “No.” Agents list homes that are in short sale at a price that they can get offers on. It’s not the approved price from the bank, which is all that matters because the bank has the final say. The bank has to approve the price short of what is owed, thus the name short sale. The bank determines the value of the home by obtaining an appraisal or a BPO (Brokers Price Opinion, which is a separate agents opinion on price) and then determines the price of the home from that.
